Apple?s Lightning Cable Contains Possible Security Chip

Apple?s migration of the iPhone from the 30-pin connector to Lightning connector hasn?t been without its issues. Even with the 30-pin adapter, some older high-end peripherals may not work. Plus, Apple?s has beefed up the rules for third-party vendors hoping to sell their own Lightning cables. Now a teardown reveals that Apple is getting serious about security or just wants low-quality cables off the market.
