BOSTON (AP) -- Two Republican U.S. Senate candidates have delivered voter signatures to the Massachusetts Secretary of State's office, earning them spots on the April 30 primary ballot.
State Rep. Daniel Winslow dropped off boxes he said contained about 16,000 voter signatures on Wednesday, several hours after former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan delivered petitions with more than 20,000 signatures collected in recent weeks.
Candidates were required to submit at least 10,000 certified signatures by the end of the day on Wednesday.
An aide to a third GOP contestant, Gabriel Gomez, said the campaign has been delivering signatures in batches.
U.S. Reps. Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch, who are seeking the Democratic nomination, have also turned in the necessary signatures.
The special election to fill the Senate seat previously held by John Kerry is June 25.
