Hypoallergenic Decorating, Is It Sterile? ? Article Squadron

Many are trying to create a hypoallergenic home so they don?t have as many allergies as they have in the past. In fact there are many items in a home which do contribute to these allergies that we never even thought of. If you decide to go this way make sure that you include style. It doesn?t have to be sterile looking like a hospital to be hypoallergenic.

If you have carpeting in your home or even central heating you?ll be creating allergens in your home more than what you would having hardwood flooring. If you have pets as well this will contribute many of your irritants.

If you?re able to reduce the humidity to at least 50 percent in your home for half of the year you?ll be able to keep out more dust mites and other dander which grow mold. Depending on the way your home is set up will determine if this is possible for you.

If you?re able to use hypoallergenic fabrics and items which have cleaner lines rather than something which has ridged or such you?ll eliminate any extra dust which can build up.

If you?re looking to find a style which will work with the hypoallergenic style try going with Traditional, Causal, and Contemporary. They are still cozy and will give you great design. The reason why these are very hypoallergenic friendly is because of the sharp lines, metallic surfaces, and minimal knickknacks.

If possible rip up the carpet as soon as possible to get rid of the mold and other dust which is held inside and replace with wood flooring. This will give you a great look and also cut back on the dust. You can still use an area rug to give you more of a coziness feel in the room but at least you?re able to remove it to clean periodically.

Cleanliness in a hypoallergenic room is a must especially when it comes to furniture. You want to make sure that any furniture which is available to have slip covers placed upon them is done. This will eliminate the worrying of the furniture cushions becoming caught with dust. You?re able to remove slip covers and place them in the wash with your other towels or lines.

If you are someone who collects specific items such as art or other knickknacks try placing them in a china cabinet. This will also give you less dusty items since all those little knickknacks would be a great dust catcher in the long run. Placing them in a cabinet which is closed will also give you style.

Children sometimes have horrible allergies so you?ll have to create a hypoallergenic bedroom for them to rest their head. Wash all the surfaces as much as possible, especially the window treatments and linens for any dust particles.

Now who said that hypoallergenic rooms needed to lack in the style department?
